Edina Finance Department Secures GFOA Triple Crown
Edina, Minn., April 12. 2024 – The City of Edina’s Finance Department was nationally recognized for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting (PAFR) for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2022 by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA).
The GFOA is a professional association comprised of approximately 19,000 state, provincial, and local government finance officers in the United States and Canada.
In order to be eligible for the PAFR Award, a government must submit its annual comprehensive financial report to GFOA’s Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting Program and receive the certificate for the current fiscal year. In January, Edina’s Finance Department was awarded with the certificate for Fiscal Year 2022.
Each eligible report is reviewed by judges who evaluate the report based on the following categories: reader appeal, understandability, distribution methods, creativity and other elements.
With the most recent win, the Finance Department completed its third and final achievement required for GFOA Triple Crown honors in Fiscal Year 2022.
The Triple Crown recognizes governments that have received GFOA's Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting, Popular Annual Financial Reporting Award, and the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award.
"We are thrilled to once again receive the prestigious GFOA Triple Crown Award, a testament to our dedication to excellence in financial reporting, budgeting and transparency. This recognition reaffirms our commitment to fiscal responsibility and accountability to our community,” said Finance Director Pa Thao.
Congratulations to everyone in the Finance Department on this achievement and distinguished recognition.
